Create a Budget

Maintenance costs, licensing fees, insurance, and the cost of purchasing riding gear can add up quickly. A budget will help you keep track of all these extra costs, as well as establish a maximum spending limit. Before you start looking for a used motorcycle, create a budget. 

Conduct a Thorough Inspection

Once you’ve found a used motorcycle that you’re interested in purchasing, your next step will be to inspect it. An inspection is the best way to get a general idea of the kind of condition that the used motorcycle is in. If you’re not confident in your ability to pull off a proper inspection, ask a mechanic to perform the inspection for you. You should also ask to see a copy of the used motorcycle’s maintenance history. An incomplete maintenance history may indicate that the used motorcycle’s previous owners were negligent when it came to upkeep.  

Take the Motorcycle for a Test Drive
